   about us

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." ~ Anatole France

We Are Here For YOU!!
Although our company is fairly young, our experience with animals, both large and small, spans over 30 years in venues including animal nutrition, health care, rescue & rehabilitation and even animal control.

With such a majority of our lives already intertwined with animals, it only made sense for us to focus on our strengths - what we know and love - and create a business that would both educate and assist our fellow animal enthusiasts. We are here to share our knowledge and use our skills to help give you and your companion animals the happy and healthy life they deserve.

So we welcome you to browse our website to see what we can do for you and yours!

Kris Smalley, President and Founder of "No Horsing Around, LLC"
For several years now I have been engrossed in furthering my natural connection with all species of animals through formal education in several holistic modalities. My passion is all about gathering knowledge just so I can share it with my clients - to make a difference in the lives of animals and their people.

In early 2006 I began learning about, training in and practicing the Natural Equine Trim Methodology. My two trail horses, Calvin and Owen were the first horses I converted to the barefoot lifestyle and their feet have never looked better! As my clientele continues to grow so does the number of success stories. Please visit the Testimonial page or contact me for referrals at any time.”

In early 2009, I became a Certified Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner after completing my training at Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute (TAAI) which is based in Larkspur, Colorado. This is a comprehensive 330 Learning Unit program, or 164 Continuing Education Hours through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work (NCBTMB). In July of 2009 I obtained my dual acupressure certification via my completion of the Equine Acupressure Practitioner Certification Program at TAAI. My next step is to begin the process to become Nationally Certified through The National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM).

As an elective for my acupressure courses, I became introduced to the amazing world of Flower Essences. I have been so enthralled that I am working to achieve a Flower Essences for Animals Practitioner Certification through Spirit-in-Nature Essences.

And my training and education initiatives don’t stop there. I am a NJ State Certified Animal Control Officer, I have vet assistant experience and I am certified in animal CPR and first aid through the American Red Cross. I have also begun the study of homeopathic remedies and other alternative health care options for animals including supplemental care. In fact, in the fall of 2009 I launched an all-natural Animal Supplement product line which targets the optimization of the digestive process in order to boost the immune system - to promote good health from the inside out. The results of my education can be clearly seen in the excellent health of the horses I care for at my natural horse boarding facility in Pittstown, NJ. Additionally, I lend my experience on a volunteer basis working with the animals of rescue/rehabilitation organizations like Rawhide Rescue and All For Loosey.
